Title: Junior Project Manager (Nonprofit or Federal Agency)
Client: Nonprofit/Federal Agency
Location: Washington, DC
Place of Performance: Hybrid - Two days a Week
Period of Performance: Through January 31, 2024
The Contractor shall perform project management services participate in meetings, and prepare documentation as indicated on a project-by-project basis.
Responsibilities: - Create and maintain project development, planning, management, and tracking forms and systems, including schedules, budgets, timelines, proposals, and risk management plans in coordination with and using the forms and systems established by the project Manager.
- Create (when needed), maintain, and update Smartsheet systems (including Smartsheet primary sheets, reports, calendars, and forms) to coordinate, execute, and track capacity for existing and new tasks. Engage in communication simultaneously with team members to track tasks and capacity.
- Advise on new project developments by creating new internal Project Plans using the Project Plan Template provided by the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Leads with writing new project proposals, budgets, and timelines when Project Lead(s) begin new engagement with external audience(s).
- Produce and/or edit/review new or existing Development reports, including, but not limited to the 2024 Annual Report.
- Assist with Budget tasks in coordination with the Financial Planning Team, including, but not limited to budget reports, spreadsheets, and memos/emails to financial contacts.
- Attends all meetings as required, including the Financial Planning team meetings.
- Produces, plans, supports event management, and attends in-person activities and events
- Conducts and/or participates in regular virtual and/or in-person meetings as requested by including recurring monthly Project Management Working Group meetings.
- Advises and/or trains staff on the use of basic project-management concepts and procedures as requested by the team.
- Prepare a project-by-project overview that summarizes the project’s progress during the period of performance and identifies any outstanding action items or risks for the Project Manager
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a project manager in a nonprofit, cultural organization, or federal agency.
- Proficiency in Waterfall/Traditional project management procedures, including risk, budget, and scope management.
- PMP certification is preferable, but not required.
- Experience using Smartsheet to track tasks and project progress, including familiarity with Smartsheet sheets, reports, and forms.
- History of providing project management support to in-person events or programs.
