Acara Solutions client in the technology industry focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare is looking for a J unior Java Developer in Houston, TX. 

Duration : 6 Months

Location : Houston, TX

Pay Rate : Up to $45 an hour 

We currently have an opening for a junior Java/J2EE Software Developer. The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic background and be able to solve problems and suggest innovative solutions. The candidate will be responsible for the proper day-to-day operation of the high-level control system. The position locality is at the IAH airport in Houston Texas, and will be the point of contact for the global support team headquartered in Dallas and Germany.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be required to participate in testing, commissioning, and supporting the automated Early Bag System. This includes configuring and troubleshooting the Windows servers, web logic server, Oracle database, and basic network.  The candidate should be able to utilize the JAVA/J2EE, and Oracle database technologies to troubleshoot the applications

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering or a related discipline with GPA > 3.3
• One year of experience (or) new graduate in designing and developing Java SE and Java EE applications. Candidates must have used Java/J2EE skills in their final year or academic projects.
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
• Hands-on/understanding of programming applications using JAVA SE and JAVA EE
• Installing and configuring the WebLogic server and Oracle database by following instructions
• Deployment of EJB containers into WebLogic server by following instructions
• Administration of Oracle SQL database (creating table spaces etc.,)
• Retrieving the health status of WebLogic server (Checking message queue lengths etc.)
• Hands-on with a relational database query language such as Oracle PL/SQL
• Troubleshooting of network and system-related issues

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Experience with Java IDEs like IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or NetBeans for development, debugging, and refactoring.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks like JUnit and integration testing. Understanding of test-driven development (TDD) practices.
