Award winning Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation Consulting firm utilizing innovative and traditional technologies to achieve site resolution and closures; actively seeks Environmental Sampling Technician or Staff Level Environmental Scientist in Southern California to assist with our current and future environmental projects in the West Region.
As an Environmental Sampling Technician or Staff Level Environmental Scientist you will perform environmental field work such as the collection of environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, indoor air, etc.) using various methodologies, completing field documentation using both hand-written and app-based hand held devices, and assisting the project team in integrating the collected data into reports that will drive future project decisions.
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-directed, customer-service-focused team player that is able to travel and work at military bases across the southwest (some at remote locations).
Environmental Sampling Technician or Staff Level Environmental Scientist Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Ideal Environmental Sampling Technician candidates: will have 4+ years of continuous experience sampling environmental media
Ideal Staff Level Environmental Scientist candidates: will have a minimum of 1-2+ years of environmental sampling or environmental consulting industry experience and a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, geology or similar scientific field.
Must have knowledge and experience sampling various environmental media including surface water, groundwater, soil, soil vapor and air.
Knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA and other regulations
Must be able to pass Federal Background Check in order to gain access to project sites
Must be able to pass DMV check and maintain acceptable driving record
Experience with multi-parameter water quality meters and other sampling equipment.
Must have ability to prepare clear, concise notes and document field progress and other aspects of project execution, such as logistical issues, inclement weather, health and safety items, etc.
Ability to effectively communicate with environmental project managers and other team members and trouble shoot issues independently.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
Ability to critically think, problem solve and make decisions especially while working in the field
Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project
Good communicator and team player; able to work independently but understands lines of responsibility
Demonstrated problem solving ability
Prior experience working on active and former military installations is a plus
