Job Title: Data Center Technician

Role Type: Contract

Contract Length: 6 – 12 months, with potential extension

Location: Ashburn, VA (Initial on-site work, potential for remote support)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to provide essential support for our Ashburn, VA data center. This contract role involves both on-site and remote responsibilities, including equipment maintenance, cable management, and system monitoring. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, impeccable communication abilities, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain data center equipment and infrastructure.
  
• Run copper and fiber cables.
  
• Rack and deploy network gear, servers, and power distribution units.
  
• Monitor production systems proactively and provide remote hands-on support as needed.
  
• Create and maintain an accurate hardware map and manage asset information.
  
• Perform Level 1 troubleshooting for client servers and network devices, escalate issues when necessary.
  
• Process hardware RMAs and manage company databases.
  
• Utilize a ticketing system and maintain detailed documentation.
  
• Assist with machine deployment (unboxing, racking).
  

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience with data center equipment maintenance.
  
• Expertise in running copper and fiber cables.
  
• Proficiency in equipment racking and deployment.
  
• Remote support and monitoring system experience.
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills for servers and network devices.
  
• Familiarity with hardware mapping and ticketing systems.
  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Colo and DCIM application tools.
  

Additional Information:

• The Initial phase requires on-site presence 5 days a week during the build stage. Post-build, support will be primarily virtual, with occasional on-site visits as needed.
