POSITION SUMMARY:

This job profile for an Air Freight Operations Agent outlines the essential duties, required knowledge, and background necessary for the position. Below is a summary of the key points:

Responsibilities:

• Routing and Tracking: Manage the routing, tracking, and tracing of shipments.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate and solve shipping issues and delays.
• Customer Interaction: Follow up with both internal and external customers, communicating pick-ups, departures, arrivals, and proofs of delivery.
• High-Value Freight: Identify and secure high-value freight.
• Inspections and Paperwork: Inspect inbound and outbound shipments and prepare related paperwork, closing out files timely.
• Quoting and Documentation: Assist in providing quotes and calculating profit margins, updating shipment information in the system.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with air freight movement and dock procedures.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Transoft software.
• Autonomy and Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and address recurring issues.

Background:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Additional Duties: Able to fulfill non-managerial duties of Air Freight managers if necessary, and lead customer-facing and reporting functions.
• On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotation every 6 weeks for customers, sales, and operations.
